Public Or Private Option to Solve Health Care Issues in America?

The health care debate is in full swing now in the USA and it could not be more polarizing. We have the liberal democrats on one side and the conservative republicans on the other. One stands for big government, the other stands for smaller government and the private sector. So which one makes more sense public or private?

The health care debate is in full swing now in the USA and it could not be more polarizing. We have the liberal democrats on one side and the conservative republicans on the other. One stands for big government, the other stands for smaller government and the private sector. So which one makes more sense public or private? Right now as I write this article the American people oppose the government public option plan 56% and only 41% are in favor of the current plan circulating in the house and congress. That tells us the current Big government plan is not looking to good to the American people. But why?
If asked most Americans feel the health care system needs to be fixed or at least be less expensive and much easier to qualify for health insurance because of pre-exisiting health conditions.
The problem, in my opinion, is not to nationalize the health care system by bringing it all under the arm of the federal government but why not make insurance more competitive in cost by opening the markets to the private sector by negotiating with the private insurance companies. In addition, make it mandatory that health insurance companies can offer their plans across State lines.
Governor Crist, Governor of Florida, he worked to solve problems by addressing the private sector, competition is a good thing and it has been the private sector that will find a solution.
Florida is an example of how to allow the private sector to solve health issues without getting the federal government involved.
The problem in my opinion is what the purpose of insurance is all about, it's not just about covering our health care costs it's really about protecting us from a catastrophic loss. Like a hurricane or a fire or a serious automobile accident or heart surgery or cancer, not for your doctors visits or small incidentals.
We have become spoiled as a nation, thinking that health care insurance should cover everything, it's about protecting you and your family from a major catastrophic illness. If you look at it that way, we could all afford a high deductible insurance plan and leave the government and higher taxes out of it!
We can not afford nationalized health care we already have a $4 trillion dollar deficit which our children and grand children will have to pay back. Let the private sector handle the issue by lowering costs and providing everyone with catastrophic coverage.
We then can work on a common sense approach to cover the preventative and regular doctors visits with more private sector ideas.
Health care needs reforming no doubt about it, but let the private sector fix it.
Leave government out of it!
